Today, Australia’s Jessica Lane took home the Miss Earth 2024 crown – congratulations to her! In light of her win, we decided to look back over the past five years of Miss Earth winners to see which body shapes have prevailed. You will be surprised: not a single Hourglass figure made the list!

Body shape: Inverted triangle. Mina Sue Choi shares the same body shape as Drita Ziri: wide shoulders, narrow hips, long slim legs. This is the most common body shape in modeling since designers love creating for and working with models with this shape.

Body shape: Probably a Rectangle, but it might be an Apple. If you look at Destiny’s body proportions, you may notice that her shoulders, waist, and hips are well-aligned with not much waist definition. Usually, all these clues mean we’re dealing with a Rectangle body shape; however, some athletic Apples don’t have a prominent stomach and can look quite similar to Destiny’s build, especially with her short torso, which is common for Apples. Most likely, her body is a combination of Rectangular and Apple shapes.

Body shape: Rectangle + Inverted triangle combo. Lindsey’s shoulders are slightly wider than a classic Rectangle, but not prominent enough to fully classify her as an Inverted Triangle. It seems her primary shape leans toward Rectangle with secondary characteristics of an Inverted Triangle.

What We Learned

This five-year snapshot reveals something unexpected: not one of them has the Hourglass figure typically associated with beauty queens. Instead, there’s a mix of athletic and softer shapes, each beautiful in its own way.

What's even better? These women look just as gorgeous in their everyday lives as they do on stage, showing us that real beauty isn’t about fitting a single mold – it’s about confidently embracing your unique shape.
